Terms & Conditions

1) A non-refundable deposit equal to the cost of your first nights accommodation is required, within 5 working days of the booking being made, to secure the room. In the event of no deposit being received The Forge reserves the right to re-let the room.

2) Cancellation policy. After you have paid your deposit a contract exists between us and we now strongly advise that you take out Holiday Insurance to cover any losses you may incur if there is any reason to cancel your booking. If you cancel your booking less than 72 hours before 12 mid-day on the day of arrival the full amount owing for your holiday may then be payable.

3) All alterations & cancellations must be made in writing in accordance with the cancellation policy above.

4) Last minute bookings made without deposit will only be held till 2pm, unless other arrangements have been agreed with the proprietors.

5) Check-in is between 2pm - 6pm. Other times by prior arrangement only.

6) Damage. All damages & breakages are to be paid for.

7) Smoking and vaping is NOT permitted anywhere in the property. Anyone who does not respect this will be asked to leave the premises, all moneys paid will be forfeit and an additional charge will be made for the deep cleaning of the room.

8) We hope that guests enjoy their stay here in Filey & at The Forge, however excessive noise or disturbance of other guests will NOT be tolerated and could result in the offending guest being evicted with no refund.

9) Credit & Debit cards; a deposit cheque or Card number is required to reserve a room & confirm the booking. Supplying The Forge Guest House with your Card details will authorise The Forge to deduct a non-refundable deposit or, in the event of a no show, a sum equal to the amount of the first nights stay. All deposits are non-refundable and cancellation terms and conditions apply. Any charges for repair to damage or for deep cleaning will also be deducted from the card supplied at the point of booking. Please see sections 6 & 7.

10) Unfortunately we do not accept Guest pets, but we do accept working assistance dogs.

Privacy Policy Statement;

The Forge Guest House ("we" or "our" or "us") are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you will be processed by us.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), from 25 May 2018, the data controller is The Forge Guest House.

The information we collect from you;
The information covered by this Privacy Policy includes the personal data you provide by filling in forms, to book with us and any other correspondence with us. We do not collect any personal information from visitors to our website other than information that is knowingly and voluntarily given.

Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted through this website; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use appropriate procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
Our website is not targeted at children, but in any event personal information will not knowingly be collected from children under fourteen years without parental consent.

How your information will be used;
The information that we collect from you is obtained, processed, stored and transmitted in the United Kingdom in compliance with data protection legislation. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. No personal information is stored on any electronic devises and only personnel authorised by us will access it.

If you provide your email address to us, you agree that we may send information to you by email in relation to our services.

We will not share your information with other organisations, except in the case of any legal obligation, or if our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about our customers may be one of the transferred assets.

Your rights;
The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. From 25 May 2018, when GDPR becomes law, a reasonable Subject Access Request (SAR) can be made without a fee being charged. It will be carried out within one month. As part of a SAR, you may request that your personal data is corrected or deleted. The result of a deletion request may be affected by any outstanding bookings or orders in progress, or our obligation to keep tax records.

If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office, https://ico.org.uk to report your concern.

Changes to our Privacy Policy;
We reserve the right to update our Privacy Policy. We may inform you of any changes if this is necessary.
